For Grown-Ups
Welcome, parents, caregivers, teachers, homeschool families, librarians, camp leaders and event organizers. Here’s how to get the most out of Flick’s Movie Club, with ready-to-use activity guides and printables.
Activity guides
Each guide has a plain learning goal, suggested ages, timing, materials, step-by-step instructions, discussion questions, an easier version, an extension and a no-screen option.

Flashlight Movie Lab: Light and Projection
Kids use a flashlight, a paper shape, and a white wall to make a mini projected picture, then see why the room light changes how clear it looks. It connects straight to why outdoor movies start after sunset.
Ages 6-11 · 10-15 minutes
-
Make It Move: Flip Book Animation
Kids draw a short flip book and learn how a stack of still pictures, shown fast, turns into motion. It's the same basic idea behind every movie.
Ages 6-11 · 15-20 minutes
-
Foley Fun: Make Movie Sounds with Stuff from Home
Kids learn how Foley artists make movie sounds with everyday objects, then perform their own sound effects for a short story. The site's Sound Studio page is a good warm-up for listening.
Ages 6-11 · 20-30 minutes
-
Director's Chair: Beginning, Middle, and End
Kids build a short original story with a clear beginning, middle, and end, then plan it shot by shot on a storyboard like a real film crew. The site's Director's Desk page can help them try out ideas.
Ages 6-11 · 20-30 minutes

Family Movie Night Activity Pack
A ready-to-go plan for a home movie night with pre-show trivia, a sound-effects warm-up, an intermission flip book, and a story chat after the credits. Everything uses paper, crayons, and stuff you already have.
Ages 6-11 (younger siblings can join with help) · About 30-40 minutes of activities, plus the movie

Contest Host Kit: Running a Paper Coloring Contest at Your Event
How an event organizer runs a simple, paper-only coloring contest during the pre-show and hands every family a double-sided activity handout. Entries use numbers instead of names, and a parent or caregiver handles each entry.
Ages Kids 6-11 as entrants; age bands are set by the organizer · About 15 minutes of setup, coloring during the pre-show, 15-20 minutes of judging

Ages are suggestions. Pick by interest and reading level; the coloring pages are labeled by how detailed they are, not by age.
Printing
- One page: open a coloring page, choose “Print this page (PDF)”, and print at 100% (“actual size”) on US Letter.
- A stack for a class or event: download all 14 pages (PDF, 2 MB) and print just the page numbers you need.
- Save ink: every page is black line art on white with no gray fills.
- Printables: Light and Shadow with a Flashlight · Make a Flipbook · Blank Storyboard · Movie Explorer Certificate ·
Screen-free follow-ups
- Shadow-puppet show with a flashlight on a wall (a grown-up holds the light; never shine it in eyes).
- A sticky-note flipbook: one small change per note, then flip.
- Sound-effects guessing game with gloves, a plastic bag and two cups.
- Fold a paper into four boxes and draw a beginning, middle and end.
Sound and motion
Nothing plays sound until a child presses a sound button. The Sound Studio has an on/off switch, a Stop button and a volume slider, and shows captions and picture markers for every sound, so it works on mute. Sound stops when you leave the page.
If your device is set to reduce motion, the Animation Lab waits for a button press instead of playing, and celebrations show a still picture and a short message. There are no flashing effects anywhere in the club.
Privacy in the club
There are no accounts, sign-ups, uploads, chat, ads or analytics in Flick’s Movie Club, and no email is needed for any download. Story text and activity choices stay on the device while the page is open. Read how the club handles privacy for the details, including what our hosting and security services still see.
Event organizers
Running a movie night for families? The club supports two paper-based extras:
- Coloring contest: Coloring Contest Host Kit (PDF, 307 KB): display sign, judging sheet, award certificate, guardian entry slip, instructions and a rules template to review. Entry is on paper at the event; nothing is collected online. Read the host guide.
- Double-sided event handout: a coloring page on the front, three trivia rounds and event details on the back. See an example (PDF) and its separate answer key. Pro Stylez staff build custom handouts for booked events.
